Customs govern the import and export of cargo and freight to and from the United Kingdom. With our continued growth over the past few years it seemed prudent to allow Customs officers to review our working practices to ensure we still comply with all United Kingdom laws and regulations.

New year, new challenge, would H.M.Revenue and Customs agree with our use of the European Transit Waiver guarantee, find our use of customs tariffs and CPC procedures in order. Our file and document retention sufficient and use of our Deferment authority and preference agreement certification suitable for the purposes we were using them. With the number of consignments which we handle that do not fall under basic home use but are covered by IPR(Inward processing relief), OPR(Outward Processing relief), Transhipment, Coastwise, British Return, Museum and Charitable entries to name just a few. It is vital to our business that our procedures are correct so we can provide our customers with the very best advice and assistance.

After a fairly exhaustive day where Customs officers sat with several staff members reviewing our operational procedures they announced that they were more than satisfied with our working practices. Cargo Overseas Limited have recently had our ISO9001 procedures thoroughly vetted and now have passed a similarly stringent H.M.Customs audit. Our working pracitces on Import, Export, Transhipment cargo and document retention were all found to be in order.
