Cargo Overseas Ltd and Cargo Insurance
As from the 14th of January only companies registered with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) will legally be able to sell any type of insurance including maritime cargo insurance. This is due to the implementation of EU Insurance Mediation Directive 2002/92/EC introduced by the Government to the Financial Service and Markets Act 2000.
Cargo Overseas Limited are one of the few freight-forwarders to apply and be accepted by the Financial Services Authority to continue to sell insurance. It is important that Cargo Overseas Limited continue to provide professional services to our customers. The inclusion of insurance within most major overseas sales makes it imperative that we continue to offer our customers this service.
This legislation is an important milestone within freight-forwarding and logistical circles as the inclusion or exclusion of insurance means that medium sized, professionally run freight companies continue to claw back advantages over the larger conglomerate forwarder who has backed away from offering this type of service.
Cargo overseas Limited are comitted to providing its customers with value added services and an increasing portfolio of products tailored around customers needs and will continue to sell insurance into the future.
