Cargo Overseas Limited is a UK regulated agent which allows
us to carry known cargo by air reducing delays and costs
for our customers.
As part of this commitment to aviation security we provide numerous
ways in which cargo can be made secure and customers can become known
shippers. Most consignments are made known by x-ray or decompression
but this is limited with only one decompression chamber in the south
of england making it expensive and time-consuming. Cargo Overseas
have a further option called RASCO which quite simply utilises sniffer
dogs to ensure no explosive device is contained within your sealed
cargo. This facility is not open to the whole of the UK and has only
been approved at Manchester where we can organise this at our receiving
depot on the World Freight Terminal.
To aid customers in becoming known shippers Cargo Overseas provide
preliminary checks to their customers premises and practices as well
as providing general awareness training which is a legal requirement
for known shippers. These checks ensure that when the private validation
is arranged by a department for transport representative you are in the
best position to pass their stringent requirements and benefit from
obtaining known shipper status.
We are committed to ensuring we maintain the highest security standards
regularly attending aviation security courses and passing on to our shippers
advice and assistance to ensure they operate within the aviation security regime.
Our commitment to aviation security has allowed us access to literature and visual
material which makes our aviation security general awareness training informative
and interesting. Many shippers have taken advantage of this year-on-year to ensure
there staff are fully appraised of their legal obligations when completing shipments
for carriage by air and we are pleased to provide this valuable service which few
other freight companies provide.
